During the 2020-2021 academic year, our department has welcomed four new faculty members. Please click on each one, below, to learn more.
Ke Fang
Assistant Professor Ke Fang joined the department and WIPAC in January 2021. She is an astroparticle physicist who uses theory and experimentation to study the universe through ultrahigh energy cosmic rays, gamma rays, and high-energy neutrinos
Uwe Bergmann
Uwe Bergmann, the Martin L. Perl Endowed Professor in Ultrafast X-ray Science, joined the department in December 2020. His research focuses largely on developing new physics techniques to be applied to research questions spanning nearly all fields of science.
Lu Lu
Assistant Professor Lu Lu joined the department and WIPAC in January 2021. She is an astroparticle physicist, and her research looks for sources of ultrahigh-energy particles. She is also working to develop next-gen astroparticle detectors.
Moritz Münchmeyer
Assistant Professor Moritz Münchmeyer joined the department in January 2021. He is a theoretical and computational cosmologist. His research combines theoretical investigation, the analysis of data from different observatories, and the development of machine learning techniques to probe fundamental physics with cosmological data.
