From Daya Bay to JUNO: Solving the Last Unknowns in Neutrino Physics
Date: Monday, August 1st
Time: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Place: 4274 Chamberlin Hall
Speaker: Wei Wang, JUNO Spokesperson, Sun Yat-sen Univeristy
Abstract: In 1st part of this talk, we will present the design and the operation of the Daya Bay experiment, the latest neutrino oscillation results, reactor neutrino flux measurements and new physics searches which had been initiated after the measurements of theta_13 and delta m^squared measurements. In the 2nd part of this talk, we will present the design of the JUNO experiment and its detector system, its physics potential, and the current R&D activities to fulfill its designed physics goals.
